FourandHalfStarsI really enjoy this series, so I was glad to read another INSTALLMENT. From the first page, I was sold on Will and Josh. They have scorching chemistry—hot sex combined with deep love. It's really intense.
I loved the mystery/serial killer storyline. It's fast-paced and absorbing, with clues spread throughout. I tend to prefer lots of plot, and for such a SHORT, erotic work, this delivered a great story.
My only hesitations were the way the author characterized rape as a crime of "sexual frustration" and for an unclear bisexual male trope (which I can't spell out because of spoilers). I did cringe at both of those. However, I don't think the plot actually relied on those elements, so I was still able to enjoy the book.
For great action (of both the sexy and crime varieties), I definitely RECOMMEND this one.

loved this story. Lots of drama, questions who done it, lots of friends and love and sex. We want more.
Rainey’s Release by Jenna Byrnes is the sixth book in the Kansas City Heat series. I have not read the previous books, and I did not have any trouble following the storyline.
A madman is on the loose targeting gays and drug addicts.
Detective William Rainey is the newest man assigned to the KCPD Homicide division. He is a seasoned police officer, but boy do they razz him for being new. He is met with a lot of distrust but his fellow police officers.
However he really is a nice guy. He is loyal, kind, and passionate.
Joshua Wolf is Native American, been in love with Will for a long time now. They like to play games in the bedroom. They are a solid couple. Very sentimental man Josh is.
What almost tears them apart is Will’s job, and the new killer on the street. I liked how they came through everything. They are really a very solid couple and that brings them through everything in this book.
I liked watching a couple that is already together get stronger. I also like the entire storyline to this book. Makes me want more of the series and to read the books I have missed. When you want a crime drama with heat both in and out of the bedroom this is the one to pick up.
